What do you study in Medicine?

Medicine is one of the most demanding degree subjects and one of those that requires the strongest sense of vocation. The programme combines rigorous science with real patient contact from the first years of study.

  • Anatomy, physiology and biochemistry of the human body
  • Pharmacology and how medicines work
  • Medical and surgical conditions affecting every body system
  • Clinical skills: physical examination, diagnosis and decision-making
  • Practical placements in hospitals and health centres
  • Medical ethics and communication with patients

After graduating, you can sit the MIR examination and specialise in fields such as paediatrics, surgery, psychiatry, cardiology and many more.
