General information about the degree

This course teaches you how mechanical parts and equipment are planned, organised and made, from the moment a drawing arrives until the piece is ready. You will learn to choose the processes and machines to use and in what order, to set up and prepare numerically controlled machines, and to check that production meets its deadlines and quality standards. By the end you will know how to run a manufacturing process in a factory.

During the course you will work with reading technical drawings, machining with numerical control, computer-aided manufacturing (CAM) and production scheduling with software tools. You will also study quality, occupational risk prevention and environmental protection. Part of your training takes place in companies, so you can see real work up close. You could work as a CNC programmer, production programmer, mechanical technician, or supervisor of machine operators and assemblers in workshops and machinery and equipment industries.
