General information about the degree

This mid-level Vocational Training course prepares you to make metal parts using machine tools. You will start from technical drawings and manufacturing standards, set up the machine, make the part and check that it is right, always following rules on quality, safety and the environment. It is taught in Spanish and in Basque.

During the course you will study machining by chip removal, programming computer numerical control (CNC) machines, metrology for measuring with precision, and automated systems. Once you finish, you can work as a turner, milling machine operator, fitter, machine tool operator or industrial robot operator, in companies that make machinery, electrical equipment or transport materials. You can also go on to another vocational course or to the Bachillerato.

This course suits people who enjoy working with their hands, like to see how a piece of metal becomes a useful part, and notice details down to the millimetre.
