Presentation
General information about the degree
This medium-level Vocational Training course teaches you how to make, assemble and repair metal parts and structures, such as tanks, pipes, beams and metal doors. You will learn to read technical drawings, to cut, bend and shape metal sheets and tubes, and to weld using different techniques. When you finish, you will be a Welding and Boilermaking Technician, able to work with good quality and following safety and environmental rules.
In the modules on marking, cutting and forming, machining, welding in natural and protected atmospheres, and assembly, you will learn to work with metal from start to finish. You will also study metrology and testing, so you can check that the pieces are well made. You could work as a welder or oxy-cutter, sheet metal worker or boilermaker, metal structure fitter, metal joiner or industrial pipefitter, mainly in metal construction, shipbuilding and vehicle manufacturing industries.
This is a good choice if you enjoy working with your hands, using tools and machines, and seeing the result of your work in something you can touch.
