Presentation
General information about the degree
This medium-level Vocational Training cycle prepares you to make, assemble and repair metal parts and structures, such as tanks, pipes, and frames for buildings and ships. By the end you will know how to set up your work area, cut and shape metal sheets and profiles, and check that the result matches the drawing. It is taught on site in Bilbao, in the morning, and includes work placements in companies.
Over the two years you will study welding in natural and protected atmospheres, layout, cutting and forming, machining, metrology and testing, reading technical drawings, and assembly. You will also cover professional English, and digitalisation and sustainability applied to industry. You could work as a welder or oxy-cutter, a sheet metal worker or boilermaker, a metal structure assembler, a metal carpenter, or an industrial pipefitter.
If you enjoy working with your hands, reading plans and paying close attention to detail and safety, this path could suit you very well.
