Presentation
General information about the degree
This Intermediate Level vocational course teaches you to build, assemble and repair metal structures and other industrial products. It lasts two years and is taught on site, although you can also choose the dual format, which mixes classes at the centre with real work in a company in the sector. By the end, you will know how to make metal parts safely.
Along the way you will work on marking out, cutting and shaping sheets and pipes, machining, and several welding methods, including manual arc welding with coated electrodes, MIG-MAG and TIG. You will also learn workplace risk prevention and how to install structures and pipes. Afterwards you can work as a welder, flame cutter, sheet metal worker or boilermaker, structural steel fitter, metal joiner or industrial pipefitter in factories and on building sites.
This course suits you if you enjoy working with your hands, machines and technical drawings, and feel at home in a workshop.
