General information about the degree
This medium-level vocational course prepares you to make, assemble and repair metal parts and structures. You will work with metal sheets, profiles and pipes, and when you finish you will be able to work as a welding and boilermaking technician in industrial companies.
During the course you will learn to read manufacturing drawings, to cut and shape metal, to weld with different techniques such as oxyacetylene, electric arc or resistance welding, and to measure and check that each piece meets what was asked. You will also study risk prevention and quality. Afterwards you could work as a welder, flame cutter, sheet metal worker or boilermaker, metal structure fitter, metal joiner or industrial pipefitter.
This course will suit you best if you enjoy working with your hands, with machines and with precision, and if you prefer hands-on teamwork in a workshop.
