General information about the degree

This higher-level vocational course prepares you to plan, promote and inform about tourist destinations. You will learn to guide and look after travellers, to deal with unexpected problems and complaints, and to offer careful service that makes visitors want to come back. Once you finish, you will be ready to work in the tourism sector in its broad sense.

In the modules you will study the structure of the tourist market, protocol and public relations, tourism marketing, the resources of each area and the design of tourist products. You will also work on tourist information services, guiding and assistance processes, and two foreign languages, English and a second language. You could work as a local or tour guide, a tourist information officer, a tourism promoter, or an assistant at fairs and congresses, or in stations, ports and airports. There are also jobs in tourism consultancy firms and in local tourism development.

This suits you if you enjoy talking with people, imagining new places and looking after the heritage of your area. It will also work for you if you like organising things and solving problems calmly.
