General information about the degree
📚 Overview
The Bachelor's Degree in Social Education at Blanquerna-Universitat Ramon Llull trains social educators who promote people's autonomy, social inclusion and the exercise of human rights in a fairer, more equitable world. From the 2026-2027 academic year it is taught at Blanquerna, in the Faculty of Social Education and Social Work (formerly the Pere Tarrés Faculty), on Plaça Joan Coromines in Barcelona. It comprises 240 ECTS over four years, taught in person, in Catalan and in the morning. The plan combines core training in sociology, social history, law, psychology, anthropology and social policy with subjects such as community education, didactics, childhood and adolescence, crisis management, programme evaluation and social pedagogy.
✨ Specific Information
Classes are small with personalised follow-up, and the social lab works on innovative techniques for real social problems. The Practicum runs through all four years: practical seminars in the first and second years and placements in centres in the third and fourth, with 450 hours of curricular placements. Electives are grouped into four pathways: social inclusion, health, childhood and adolescence, and diversity, community and development cooperation. The 11-ECTS Final Degree Project spans the whole fourth year. A double degree in Social Education and Social Work leads to both degrees in under six years.
👤 Recommended Profile
For people who want to support others, are sensitive to social inequality and wish to turn that commitment into a profession. Empathy, listening skills, teamwork and a critical view of social reality all help.
🚀 Career Prospects
Graduates work in social services, childhood, family and school, prisons and juvenile justice, child and youth protection, social-health services, job placement, community and family mediation, support for vulnerable groups, functional diversity, social project design and evaluation, applied research and international cooperation. Master's and postgraduate studies in social action are a further option.
