Presentation
General information about the degree
This course trains you to apply radiotherapy treatments, using radiation to treat illness always under a doctor's prescription. You will also learn to look after the patient while they are in the unit, and to follow the radiation protection rules of the hospital. Your work placements take place in the radiology departments of the main hospitals and clinics in the area.
You will study treatment simulation, physical and clinical dosimetry, and treatments with teletherapy and brachytherapy. You will also take professional Catalan and English. When you finish, you can work as a senior radiotherapy technician, a specialist radiotherapy technician, an auxiliary staff member in radiation protection services, or a sales representative for medical radiology equipment. If you want to keep studying, you can access any university degree.
This is a good choice if you are interested in both medicine and technology, and if you enjoy working precisely and as part of a team. To enter, you need the Diagnostic Imaging and Nuclear Medicine higher-level course.
