General information about the degree

This course teaches you how to plan and organise the making of machined parts and the assembly of equipment, from the moment a drawing arrives until the part is ready. When you finish, you will know how each part should be made and how to run production so that deadlines and quality targets are met.

During the course you will work on reading technical drawings, programming numerically controlled machines and robots, computer-aided manufacturing, and planning production with management software. You will also study quality, workplace health and safety, and environmental protection. Afterwards you could work as a CNC programmer, a production planner, a mechanical technician, or a supervisor of machine operators and assemblers in companies that make machinery, electrical equipment or transport parts.

It may suit you if you enjoy technology, like organising work, and feel comfortable in a team solving problems as they come up.
