General information about the degree

This higher-level vocational course teaches you how to plan and control the making of industrial equipment through machining and assembly. You will learn to read technical drawings, manufacturing standards and catalogues, and to decide how each part should be made. When you finish, you will know how to organise production in a factory and look after the quality of the work.

In the course you will study technical drawing, CNC machining and computer-aided manufacturing (CAM). You will also cover production planning, quality management and occupational risk prevention. You could work as a CNC programmer, a production planner or a programmer of automated manufacturing systems. Other options include supervisor of metal-working machine operators or mechanical technician in the metal industry.

It suits you if you enjoy technology and machines and like seeing how teamwork is organised in a factory.
