General information about the degree

This Higher Level course teaches you how to organise and control the manufacture of industrial parts and equipment. You will learn how each part is machined and assembled, how to make sure the product is good quality, and how to protect people and the environment. When you finish, you will know how to plan the work of a workshop or production line from start to finish.

Over the two years you will work with programming for numerical control machines, robots and automated systems, and with computer tools to plan production and supplies. You will also study computer-aided manufacturing, product checking and quality management. You could work as a CNC programmer or production planner, as a supervisor of machine operators or assemblers, or in other technician roles in the metalworking industry.

This course suits you if you enjoy solving problems with your hands and with a computer, and if you like seeing an idea turn into a real part.
