General information about the degree

This intermediate-level vocational course prepares you to install, set up and maintain computers, peripherals and local networks, whether they work on their own or connected to each other. When you finish, you will hold the title of Technician in Microcomputer Systems and Networks, which lets you help clients and fix faults with care and confidence. It is taught in person at the Santurtzi centre, and you can study it in Spanish or in Basque.

You will learn to build computers, install operating systems and programmes, set up wired and wireless networks, and protect systems against failures and attacks. You will also work on network services and web applications. With this title you can work as an IT support technician, an equipment installer and repairer, or a data network technician, in IT companies or in the IT departments of other organisations.

This course suits you if you like taking a device apart to see how it works and prefer solving problems with your hands and with logic. Afterwards, you can also move on to another vocational course at a higher level or to specialisation courses in 5G networks or the Internet of Things.
