General information about the degree
This intermediate-level Vocational Training course teaches you to assemble, set up and maintain computers, peripherals and local networks, both stand-alone and connected to each other. By the end you will be able to install basic and application software, set up shared services on a network and find faults through functional tests, always following quality and safety standards.
During the course you will work on equipment assembly and maintenance, operating systems, local networks, computer security and network services. You will also learn to write technical documents and to help customers. With this qualification you could work as a computer installer and repair technician, IT support technician, data network technician or systems operator, among other roles in the service sector and in organisations that run their own computer systems.
It is a good choice if you like taking things apart, fixing them and understanding how devices work, and if you enjoy solving problems step by step.
