General information about the degree

This higher-level vocational course teaches you to design parts and products made through mechanical manufacturing processes. You will learn to come up with solutions, do the calculations that set the right sizes, and prepare the technical documents a workshop or factory needs to produce. Once you finish, you will be able to design with quality and safety, following the rules on workplace risk prevention and environmental protection.

You will study, among other things, mechanical product design, tools for sheet metal and stamping, moulds for casting and plastics, and automation of manufacturing. Using CAD software you will draw assembly and manufacturing drawings, and simulate how a mould fills and cools before it is made. You could work as a draughtsperson, CAD technician or product development technician for moulds, dies and tooling, in companies that make machinery, electronics or transport equipment.

It suits you if you enjoy drawing on a computer and figuring out how each piece is built.
