General information about the degree

This course teaches you how to design mechanical parts and products, from the first idea to the drawings needed to make them. By the end you will know how to calculate the sizes of a product, choose its materials and prepare the technical documents a factory needs. It is taught on site in Vitoria-Gasteiz, in Spanish and Basque.

Over the two years you will work with CAD software to draw assembly and manufacturing drawings. You will also learn to design moulds for plastics and for casting, tools for sheet metal and stamping, and how to automate manufacturing. You will study digitalisation, sustainability and professional English as well. Part of your training takes place in companies, and the centre offers the chance to do placements in Europe through an Erasmus+ project.

You could work as a draughtsperson, a CAD technician, or a product, mould, die or tooling development technician, mostly in machinery, electronics or automotive companies. You can also continue with specialisation courses, such as additive manufacturing or smart manufacturing, or with engineering degrees at university.
