General information about the degree

This course prepares you to work in factories that make medicines, biotechnology products and similar goods, such as cosmetics or food supplements. You will learn to organise production, start up and shut down machines, and follow safety and environmental rules. Once you finish, you can lead your own team on the factory floor.

Over the two years you will study biotechnology production with bioreactors and cell cultures, quality control using techniques such as chromatography and spectrophotometry, and how to make tablets, capsules and other pharmaceutical forms. You could work as a control technician, warehouse coordinator, manufacturing supervisor or production area supervisor, in pharmaceutical or biotechnology companies.

Classes are held in the morning, in Spanish, in Basque, or with part of the content in English. The course includes dual training with work placements in companies and, if you wish, a placement in another European country through Erasmus grants. It suits people who enjoy lab and plant work and want to see real results from what they make.
