General information about the degree

This course teaches you to design, assemble, programme and maintain the automated systems that run machines in a factory. Once you finish, you will be able to set up automatic installations, find and repair faults, and commission equipment by following technical drawings and safety rules. It is taught on site, in the morning, at the Mendizabala centre in Vitoria-Gasteiz, and it includes periods of training in companies.

You will study programmable logic controllers, pneumatic and hydraulic systems, measurement and control, industrial robotics and communication between devices. You will also draw plans with computer-aided design software and learn technical English. Afterwards you could work as an industrial robot programmer, a commissioning or maintenance technician for automated systems, a control systems designer, or an inspector of electrical panels, in manufacturing and industry companies.

This suits you if you enjoy taking a device apart to see how it works, you are interested in electricity and programming, and you prefer solving problems hands-on and as part of a team. When you finish, you can also continue with specialisation courses such as collaborative robotics or smart manufacturing.
