General information about the degree

This higher-level Vocational Training course teaches you how to design, install, programme and maintain the automated systems that keep factories running. By the end you will know how to set up an automated installation, choose its equipment and start it up. It is taught in person at Egibide in Vitoria-Gasteiz, and you can study it in Spanish or in Basque.

Over the two years you will work with electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems, programmable logic controllers, measurement and control systems and industrial robotics. You will also study industrial communications, technical documentation and professional English. Afterwards you could work as a commissioning technician for automation systems, an industrial robot programmer, a control systems designer, or a maintenance team leader in workshops and plants.

If you enjoy taking machines apart to see how they work, and you like the idea of a machine doing a job on its own, this course will give you plenty of chances. If you want to keep studying later, you can take specialisation courses in collaborative robotics or digitalisation of industrial maintenance, or a university engineering degree.
