General information about the degree

This Higher Level vocational course teaches you how to control robots, automated systems and electrical equipment used in factories. Automation is a key part of today's industry, and more and more people are needed who can program robots and other systems to make production more efficient. When you finish, you will be able to set up automated installations and get them ready to run according to technical specifications. You study on site, and there is also a dual option that combines classes with real work in a company.

Over the two years you will study electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems, programmable systems, industrial robotics and industrial communications. You will also learn to read technical documentation and to integrate automation systems. With this qualification you can work as an industrial robot programmer or controller, a commissioning technician, an electrical panel inspector or a control systems designer.

You may enjoy this course if you like building and repairing machines and if you are drawn to testing ideas with logic and a computer.
