The Higher Technician in Energy Efficiency and Solar Thermal Energy is a two-year vocational training course taught in person, in the morning. You will learn how to measure how much energy a building uses, suggest ways to save it, and prepare the paperwork for its energy certification. You will also learn to design, install and maintain solar thermal systems, which use the sun to heat water.

During the course you will study thermal equipment and installations, energy efficiency in installations, building energy certification and efficient water management. You will also see how to configure a solar system and plan its installation and maintenance safely. Once you finish, you could work as an assistant in energy certification processes, as a sales representative for solar installations, or as a person in charge of installation and maintenance. You could also work in energy management or start your own small business.
