General information about the degree

The Higher Technician in Dietetics is a higher-level vocational training course taught on site, in the morning, at the Plaiaundi centre in Irun. You will learn to design diets suited to each person or group, both for healthy people and for people living with a specific illness, and to check that food is safe and of good quality.

During the course you will study balanced nutrition, diet therapy, food control, food microbiology and hygiene, and health education to promote healthy habits. Once you finish, you can work as a dietitian or dietetics and nutrition technician in hospitals and health centres, or as a food manager in catering companies, restaurants and communal dining services. You can also move into the food industry or into food hygiene control.

This course may suit you if you are interested in health, in cooking with purpose and in helping people eat better, and if you enjoy working with others and seeing how what we eat affects our body.
