Presentation
General information about the degree
This medium-level Vocational Training course prepares you to care for people in situations of dependency, meaning people who need help with their daily life. You can work in their own home or in an institution, always aiming to keep or improve their quality of life. When you finish, you will know how to care with respect and professionalism, and how to refer people to other services when needed.
You will study psychosocial support, communication support, personal hygiene, basic health care and first aid, among other things. You also do placements in workplaces, so you see the job up close. Afterwards you could work as an elderly care worker, home care assistant, personal assistant, special education assistant, or in a telecare service.
If you enjoy supporting other people and have the patience to listen and accompany them calmly, this course could be your path.
